NASA Space Apps Challenge 2015

On April 10-11th, 2015 was held a 48 hour hackathon where scientists, designers, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, developers and students were able to collaborate and engage with publicly available data to design innovative solutions for global challenges.

The event was part of NASA Space Apps Challenge that is an international mass collaboration focused on space exploration that takes place over 48-hours in cities around the world. The event embraces collaborative problem solving with a goal of producing relevant open-source solutions to address global needs applicable to both life on Earth and life in space. This year was over 25 challenges in four areas: Earth, Outer Space, Humans and Robotics. NASA was leading this global collaboration along with a number of government collaborators and over 100 local organizing teams across the globe.
The event was attended by 55 participants divided into 6 groups were each group has worked in different challenges with the help of mentors.
1st place winner was the team Avengers with a 3d Asteroid Visualization, 2nd place winner was team F11 with a great and innovative Water Clean App both for web and android and the 3rd place or People’s Choice winner was team Enigma with the Innovative Drone able to work in 0 gravity.
