SEEUTechPark on Workshop on the role of Science/Technology Parks and Incubators in Innovation Ecosystems
On 23-24 May 2017 SEEUTechPark participated in the technology transfer and innovation promotion two-day workshop focus on the Danube and Adriatic-Ionian macro regions and the Western Balkan countries specially designed for Science/Tech Parks and Incubators from the South-East Europe.
The main focus of this workshop is the exchange of good practices for the development and management of Science and Technology Parks (STPs) and Incubators in the Western Balkan countries and SEE.
The objectives of this workshop were to exchange know-how among practitioners from the region on successful practices in science parks and incubators development and management and to explore and understand the role that these can play in creating value and developing innovation ecosystems. The workshop aimed to explore the different models for STPs and incubator development and financing as well as management. It also considers the role that various stakeholders, both private and public (industry, academia, government, the investment community, etc.) can play to generate a virtuous circle that can accelerate local economic development and drive regional competitiveness. The prime focus was given on exploring best practices that can help to tackle issues and bottlenecks that are specific to the SEE region.
The practical part of the conference was held at Noesis – Thessaloniki Science Center & Technology Museum.
