First charging station for electric vehicles in Macedonia

On September 20th, 2014, at SEEU campus Skopje, in a solemn ceremony was opened the first charging station for electric vehicles in Macedonia, in presence of the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Mr. Nurhan Izairi, the President of EMKICE, Mr. Ilija Vuckov, owner of the Tesla Model S and entrepreneur, Mr. Sasa Cvetojevic and the Director of SEEUTechPark, Prof. Dr. Azir Aliu.

"The Technology Park is a place where are created conditions for lasting and closer relationships between academia and industry with the aim of turning knowledge and expertise into stocks, production and investment.
Today i am pleased to announce the opening of the first charging station of electric vehicles in our country and in the center of Skopje, in front of the SEE University." said the director of Technology Park Mr. Aliu in his address.

“Let me applaud the initiative to open the first charging station for electric vehicles and green marked path through the Balkans, which will contribute to increasing the use of vehicles of its kind in our region," the minister Mr. Izairi said in his address.

Noted that responsible attitude towards the environment, among other things, means and innovative approach in the use of new technological solutions.

"Given the above, I find it necessary to take additional measures to reduce emissions of pollutants from the transport. I'd still like to point out that the University of South Eastern Europe, with the Technology Park as part of it, is in step with global innovation and as an institution responsible for the preservation of the natural ecosystem values is the leader in the region, "concluded the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning.

"This will be a real test of endurance of such vehicles. Infrastructure and chargers, no, we have to adapt to all possible sources of electrical energy along the way. From ordinary to industrial plug connectors in a wall charger and carry with us. I hope that we will be able to connect and demonstrate how the charging operation “said Mr. Cvetojevic, owner of the Tesla Model S.

The charging station will contribute to increase the use of vehicles of its kind in our region and to mark the green path through the Balkans.
