European Business Angels Week
On November 21 in Tetovo - Macedonia, was held the workshop "European Business Angels Week”: Collaboration between industry and academic environment, sustainability and creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem necessary for companies.
SEEUTechPark and Euro Macedonian Knowledge Innovation Center were the organizers of the workshop, the aim of this workshop was to create opportunities for collaboration between the industry and the academic environment, sustainability and creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem necessary for companies.
The workshop started with a video message from José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, he elaborated on the importance of Business Angels. During his speech he emphasized that “Business Angels have been playing an important role in Europe’s recovery, by financing start-ups that create jobs and by bringing European innovation to consumers and businesses worldwide. They are an essential element of the creativity, innovation and solidarity within our overall growth and jobs strategy”.
Our special guest speaker was Mr. Ilija Vuckov, President of Euro Macedonian Knowledge Innovation Center, he spoke about raising awareness and expanding our knowledge about the main role and the relevance of business angels in the promotion of economic growth.
Prof. Norbert Marx addressed the collaboration between the industry and the academic environment by presenting and explaining about a new study program. It is a dual, practice-oriented Bachelor degree program which is alternating three-month phases, with students learning theory at the SEE University and receiving practical training from Enterprises.
The SEUUTechPark will continue and broaden its collaboration with the Euro Macedonian Knowledge Innovation Center. In the future, we aspire to develop new, innovative ideas and to help individuals or teams develop profitable businesses.
